“Life can be so chaotic, remember to pause because our surroundings can be incredibly inspiring and special. If we let it.”-Rayna Rose Exelbierd
Firsts ”for foods, feelings, bands, places, and activities hold a special place in my heart. Yesterday I saw Joy right in front of me. A girl less than 6 years old and dressed as a ballerina was trying ice cream for the very first time in her life. I assume she must have had some allergies because my yoga studio offers oat milk ice cream. Watching her enjoy a cone bigger than her head and covered in sprinkles brought me pure Joy. Her mom smiling and taking a million photos of her- It was so special to witness a “first” for someone so young.
Recently I started running as a part of a larger goal to run a half marathon for my 30th birthday. Jesse Itzler’s Build Your Life Resume inspired me to take on this annual “Misogi” goal. I’m proud to share I’ve gotten up to 6 miles but realized quickly I needed to incorporate yoga in order for my muscles to recover and to sustain the mileage. Committing to the practice has done wonders for my physical, mental, and emotional health. If you’ve never tried it, I’d like to empower you to seek out this stretchy first and let me know how it goes. Life can be so chaotic, remember to pause sometimes because our surroundings can be incredibly inspiring and special. If we let it.
